RIP John A. Lent

Comics academic, author, researcher. He was founder and editor of The International Journal of Comic Art, the scope of which was frankly daunting. I was lucky enough to have some articles printed in it over the years. Condolences to his family and friends.

THIS YEAR'S PLAN

Okay, I've put together the plan for my next comic.

I've got a cover idea, 9 stories (3 completed), a finished illustration, and a new idea (for me) that I'm excited to do. Time to knuckle down now and get the work done.

DUNDEE ZINE FEST 2026

Last weekend, I tabled at Dundee Zine Fest, an annual event running at Art Angel in the centre of town.

I was with my buddy Mike Sedakat. The first hour was masked, a good idea to allow more vulnerable people to come along.

A good time was had. I caught up with old comic chums, and met new ones.

WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THAT COMIC SMELL?

For those of you who may wonder, "Whatever happened to That Comic Smell?" I'm happy to say we still meet up regularly and this very night I have just come back from a fun evening of enthusing over Flash Gordon comics. I also had a lovely Chicken Kurma and Irn-Bru.
