WRITING day 5

Last four pages of the story.

I always write comics in this fashion. The panel and word balloon placement are integral to how it's read, and having them be part of the writing process as it happens is crucial for me. However, when I write for another artist, they want to bring their skills and taste to how they layout the story. Also, the rough layouts I do are incomprehensible to anyone else. So my next step is writing up the story into a script form for them to work from. This is essentially adapting for another medium. I'll give myself a week or so to complete this.

WRITING day 4

Pages 13 to 16. All Monsters Attack!

Something that's happened this week is that while saving photos to my PC, it is refusing to do so as JPGs now. That format is what I need to upload the photos here, so as well as cropping and resizing the pictures, I also have to convert them online and download them. All behind the scenes irritation.

Today I'll be writing the last four pages, aiming to bring this towards a satisfactory conclusion.

WRITING day 2

I'm writing this particular story for another artist to draw, and so am mindful of including things they'd like to do. We discussed the genre (both science fiction nuts) and things such as having splash pages, technology, character designs, etc. I have a core reason for telling the story I'm writing, and incorporate the artist's considerations into the script.

WRITING day 1

I'm writing a twenty page comic story this week (after planning out a hundred page one last week - but I won't go into that).

I gathered my ideas together for this story over the latter part of last week, and planned out how it'll progress yesterday. Then, how to write a twenty page story in a week? Make sure you complete four pages a day!
